Kaiseki Restaurants

The building that the restaurant is in is incredible. So much history and it's a very serene atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive and were great hosts. The food, without a doubt, was some of the best I've ever had. The meal was simple but elegant and the ingredients were fresh and classically Japanese. 10/10 meal and a fantastic memory was made.

We had a fantastic dinner here! The sushi chef explained each course so we knew what we were eating. Everything was delicious! The restaurant is clean and quiet. We would definitely recommend!

The food was sublime. Extremely friendly and caring service from our server. Private and Quiet atmosphere allowing us to immerse ourselves in the traditional Gion setting. Definitely worth another visit.

This was my first kaiseki experience, and it did not disappoint. I had a lunch reservation at the counter, which allowed me to observe the chefs assemble each dish with care and precision. Every course was beautifully presented and genuinely delicious. Some of the flavor combinations were unlike anything I had tasted before, making the meal feel special. The portion size for lunch was also surprisingly generous, and I left completely satisfied. The space itself is cozy and intimate, with a traditional feel. There are only 6 counter seats, and you remove your shoes at the entrance, which immediately sets the tone for an authentic and immersive experience. One thing worth noting for non-Japanese speakers: the service is conducted entirely in Japanese. It was not a barrier to enjoying the meal, but it was a shame not being able to ask questions about each dish or fully follow the conversations. Overall, Oryori Hayashi is a must-visit for anyone curious about kaiseki. I would love to return if given the chance — highly recommended!

Wonderful evening, excellent food and beautifully prepared. Our google directions were off and we were 10 minutes late and they were very accommodating.

Great Yakitori experience at 🇯🇵🐔Yakitori Sei (Yakitori Sei 焼鳥 清(せい). Chef Sei always starts his omakase courses off with a skewer of Hinaiji chicken thigh meat from Akita Prefecture. Juicy and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommended place! Located just northeast of Yotsuya-sanchome Station. Thank you very much for the experience. We had a very enjoyable meal, based on the freshest of products, with subtle and innovative combinations of flavours and textures. It was great to be able to closely watch the chef preparing the dishes behind the counter. I have only one critique: the courses kept coming – I would have preferred a short break between courses to catch my breath and reflect on the food. ;)

What an experience! Chef and Service person was friendly and interactive. Food was served with care and precision. Sake pairing is recommended. The ingredients were fresh and innovative! Vinegar in sushi rice was a little on the stronger side. But overall the sushi and cooked food was well executed. Thank you very much!
