Kaori was absolutely amazing! We really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend to anyone coming to Japan for the first time. She met us at the station and walked us around showing us the ingredients that would make up our dishes. She made sure she met our dietary requirements. Nahoko is a lovely, attentive and highly skilled chef and host. Her home is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, which allows you to experience a different pace from the busiest areas in Tokyo (easy to access by rail). Her English is great and she explained the history of flavors and umami which made our class so engaging. Then it was time to start making the ramen, it was very hands on and I loved getting involed, making my own noodles and learning so much. I think the highlight is her recipe. We have not tasted anything like her ramen, forget about ichiran or any other big brands, this is the best ramen you'll ever try. You also get a copy of the recipe, which I'll definitely attempt making at home. I'd recommend Nahokos class for an authentic experience at a Japanese home and cooking.

The class was a highlight of our week in Tokyo. We learned a ton of things about the products we used and were given lots of “chef’s tips” that you could never get from a book. Masa and Junko made us feel completely welcome. They were patient and caring, especially with my 11 year old son, whom they helped along as needed so that he could fully participate in the class. The food we made was delicious and the meal at the end of the class was relaxed, fun and warm. Thank you to Masa and Junko for a great time!

Incredible lesson with Masa and Junko. We learnt so much about the history of ramen and gyoza and it was great fun learning all the tricks of making amazing gyoza. Our teenage kids absolutely loved it! We were so full for the rest of the day. We would highly recommend this class.
