Yuka-san was an incredible and gracious hostess! My girlfriend and I learned so much and really enjoyed the peaceful and intimate atmosphere of our lesson. Shyōjin Ryōri is a beautiful art that encourages mindfulness, sustainability, and results in delicious food. I recommend Yuka-san’s lesson to anyone who wants to learn about Buddhist tradition, mindful cooking and gain peace of mind. She was so accommodating to our taste preferences and was able to make a last minute change to the recipe when we forgot to mention an allergy. We appreciated Yuka-san’s efforts to use seasonal vegetables. Additionally, her husband was incredibly kind and they have an adorable little finch that joined us for dinner! This was such a memorable experience and we highly recommend taking a cooking lesson with Yuka-san!

I enjoyed Yuka-san's cooking class a lot and would recommend it to anyone interested in Shojin Ryori, vegan cuisine or just good, healthy food in general. Yuka-san is a very sweet and calm person and answered my questions thoroughly. The food we prepared together was a feast for all senses - beautiful-looking and full of distinctive flavors, not to mention very tasty.

The tour to David's wasabi patch in the forest was a very welcome change from the scorching heat down in the city. David was the most welcoming and educating tour guide, and we learned a lot about plants and history on our way up. Tasting different sorts of wasabi, especially the difference in pungency when freshly grated versus after a couple of minutes of oxidation was a unique experience (the roast beef complemented the wasabi perfectly). After this, you will see those little "wasabi" packets with different labels, even though they are unavoidable outside of Japan. This is a 5/5 and I am sure we will visit again the next time we we are in this area. Thank you, David!

5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — A Tokyo Night to Remember! We joined the Tokyo Nightlife Tour with Alejandro and it was honestly one of the best nights we had in Japan! Alejandro took us bar hopping through some amazing local spots we would have never found on our own. We met so many locals and other travelers — it felt like a big night out with new friends. Alejandro even gave us this “medicine drink” at the beginning of the night to keep us from having a hangover — and it really worked! We ended up at a 50’s themed bar where we could eat and drink as much as we wanted. The vibe there was hilarious and wild — you could tip the waiters with drinks, which they had to chug on the spot! They even had funny contests between the staff to see who could drink the fastest — the energy was contagious. One of our friends might have had a little too much fun and ended up making a new local friend in the bathroom — we’re still laughing about it days later! If you’re looking for a unique, authentic, and super fun way to experience Tokyo nightlife, do not miss this tour. Alejandro was the perfect host — friendly, organized, and just knew how to make it an unforgettable night. Highly recommend — we’re still talking about it! Thanks again, Alejandro!

Ryo Ito was our teacher. He speaks very good English and was energetic and patient. He taught us briefly the history of fake food making in Japan (like how it was made from wax until about 50 years ago) and very meticulously showed us how to make our parfait, using careful demonstrations and video tutorial. The end product was adorable. My teen girls and I loved it!
