Experience Details

Explore the diverse world of sushi and master its craft in this hands-on class in Asakusa, where you’ll learn to prepare maki sushi rolls and nigiri! Maki rolls are classic sushi rolls that make an excellent snack any time of day, while nigiri is the classic combination of shari (sweet vinegared rice) and neta (toppings). And because sushi is often enjoyed with sake, you'll taste three different sake varieties after your meal. This 2-hour journey begins with an hour dedicated to unveiling the history of sushi and equipping you with the skills to craft your own. You’ll cut, assemble and roll your sushi under the careful instruction of your friendly hosts. Afterward, you’ll savor the fruits of your labor by indulging in your freshly made maki and nigiri sushi! Lastly, taste and compare three different kinds of Japanese sake recommended by your hosts, and deepen your understanding of Japan's national drink. Upon prior request, this experience can accommodate requests for dietary requirements or food allergies, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and halal. Please inquire upon booking (same-day requests will not be accommodated). Your friendly hosts and experienced staff will smoothly conduct this class in English, and answer all your sushi-related questions! A perfect blend of traditional charm and culinary delight, this experience takes place in the heart of Asakusa, a vibrant district rich in history and culture and home to the popular Sensoji Temple.
