Experience Details
Embark on a delightful journey through the land of Japanese desserts! Learn how to make Japanese creampuffs (shu cream) at this one-day workshop in Tokyo. You’ll learn how to make the various elements of this beloved treat, bake and decorate, then get a lesson in dessert photography from your friendly instructor. Whether you’re an aspiring dessert maker or a seasoned professional, this class welcomes people of all skill levels!
Creampuffs–affectionately referred to as ‘shu cream in Japan–are a delightful twist on the classic creampuff. A popular sweet treat, you can find these decadent desserts in convenience stores and cafes all through Japan, but nothing beats a fresh creampuff (in our humble opinion).
Your experience will begin with an icebreaker and a brief explanation of the day’s dessert menu. Then, you’ll make and bake the choux pastry! Post-baking, it’s time to make the custard cream to fill the pastry. After decorating your sweet puff, your instructor will give you a lesson in dessert photography so you can snap some professional pictures! Additionally, this creampuff workshop is kawaii-friendly: If you’d like to add some extra cute to your puff, you can change the color of the cream and decorations upon request.
Your instructor carefully selects all ingredients used during this class, and you can choose between various flavors: matcha (green tea), chocolate, sakura and strawberry.
