Making the Neikiri was definitely a highlight to our amazing trip to Japan. We learned so much, not just in terms of how to make the sweets, but the entire culture and rich history surrounding them & the art of the tea ceremony. Both ladies were so lovely to chat to & so welcoming. Thank you for having us, we look forward to taking another class when we return to Tokyo.

Mochi Making Class in Tokyo
Cooking Classes
Our mochi class with Satoko-san was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we stepped into her cozy studio, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that immediately made us feel at home. Satoko-san's friendly demeanor and passion for sharing her culture shone through every aspect of the class. Throughout the session, not only did we learn the intricate art of making mochi, but Satoko-san also took the time to delve into the rich tapestry of Japanese culture and tradition. From the significance of mochi in celebratory events like New Year's to its symbolic importance in weddings and other ceremonies, we gained a deeper appreciation for the role mochi plays in Japanese life. What truly set this experience apart was Satoko-san's ability to seamlessly blend tradition with modernity. As we crafted our own mochi under her expert guidance, she shared stories of how this centuries-old delicacy has evolved to suit contemporary tastes and lifestyles. From innovative flavor combinations to creative presentation ideas, we discovered a whole new world of mochi beyond the traditional varieties. By the end of the class, not only did we learn the art of mochi-making, but we also left with a newfound understanding of Japanese culture and customs. The experience was not just about food; it was a journey of cultural immersion and appreciation. In conclusion, whether you're a food enthusiast or a cultural explorer, I cannot recommend Satoko-san's mochi class highly enough!
