Highly recommend this experience. My 9 year old and I did this and we were so happy. Even if you don't have experience cooking there is still lots of involvement and you get a great satisfaction from making the gyozas and ramen.

We saved this experience for the last days in Japan, and we should have done this from.the beginnint. The lesson with Kaori-san was fun, interesting and tasty! We also learned a lot of details about japanese eating habits, and plenty of information about veggie and vegan places and products we would have used from the start of our trip. It was one of our BEST investments there. It requires a bit of a metro Transit, but It is easy to reach and Kaori-san awaits for you at the station, with great english. Top choice.

We were looking for something fun and authentic to do during our three days in Tokyo, and stumbled upon BentoYa cooking with Kaori. Kaori speaks pretty flawless English, having lived in LA when she was younger. We learned how to cook vegan ramen and gyoza (including sauces), along with a dessert pastry. Everything was super-Oishi, and Kaori emailed us the recipes so we can take a stab at replicating the dishes when we get home. I’m so glad we found her!

We had a wonderful experience learning how to make traditional Japanese dishes with vegan ingredients. No taste was lost in these recipes. Our teacher met us at the train station and off we went to the grocery store and learned about the ingredients. Once at her house the lesson began! We felt so comfortable with our teacher. She answered many questions without hesitation. The end result was purely amazing! Honestly this was the best day so far of our Japan visit.
