I had such a lovely time at this onigiri-making class with my friends! The sweetest grandma taught us how to make onigiri and shared so many helpful tips and little tricks along the way. It was such a fun and heartwarming experience, and we got to enjoy making something delicious together.
I would especially recommend this experience for families and children it’s a wonderful way to spend quality time together while learning about Japanese food and culture. A fun, hands-on activity for all ages! 🍙💕

I was honestly surprised by how easy and enjoyable it was to make onigiri by myself. The instructors were incredibly kind and always ready to help, especially toward the end when I needed a little extra guidance. I made tuna mayo, beef, and eggs , and all three were so delicious. One of my favorite moments was taking photos together at the end the way everyone smiled and waved made the whole experience feel especially warm and memorable

The onigiri experience taught me a lot more than I originally expected! I've made onigiri before but never been taught in a more home-style manner, and it showed! My first onigiri was rather embarrassing, but with the help of the chefs teaching I was able to create a beautiful onigiri I could be very proud of, plus be able to make for my family in the future.
And of course, the onigiri was delicious too - great ingredient selection! I think you'll get even more value out of it if you learn some basic Japanese food words first, but the entire experience was in English.

It was such a lovely experience and very enjoyable! I did not know before that tofu is so versatile and can cook that many flavorful dishes from it. Morimi san is such a lovely lady who is welcoming and patient throughout the lesson. The cooking steps were easy to follow and at the end of the class, we enjoyed the delicious meal together. I have already got all the ingredients and looking forward to recreate it myself at home!

My first time joining an onigiri-making class, and I had so much fun. 🍙🤍 Please take a moment to read this.
This experience was such a privilege and something I'll always remember. While I enjoyed learning how to make onigiri, what truly captured my heart was hearing the story behind it from our teacher, who has spent years perfecting this craft.
Many people think making onigiri is simple and technically, it is. But making it with love, compassion, dedication, and a genuine desire to nourish others is what makes it truly special. That is the secret ingredient you can never replicate.
We also learned that the rice they use comes from Niigata's Sekikawa Village (関川村), where premium Koshihikari rice is grown. The clean water and rich natural environment of Japan contribute to the exceptional quality and flavor of the rice, making every bite taste even more special.
After hearing their stories, I realized that what they truly want to share isn't just how to make onigiri it's the heart, culture, and tradition behind it. It's about showing the world what makes Japanese onigiri different.
I'm so grateful to have experienced this. It wasn't just a cooking class—it was a beautiful lesson about passion, craftsmanship, and sharing kindness through food. A memory I'll always cherish and one I'm happy to share with others. 🇯🇵🍙

The miso experience was so fun and hands on! I learned various interesting facts about miso that I never knew before. Getting my hands dirty and knowing that it will be my original miso makes me more excited to taste the miso after it is fully fermented. The staff were so easy to talk to and I had many amazing conversations with them and learned so much about their store's concept and their love for their products. Being able to taste various miso also broadened my taste buds and made me realize that there are much more complex flavors and varieties of miso that I should try in the future. I was also able to try different flavors of amazake, a sweet fermented rice drink, which I didn't know existed. I knew of the original flavor, but I never thought adding different flavors would make amazake more versatile.
The store is quite small, but it felt welcoming and warm both outside and inside. It made anyone who stepped inside feel like they were in a small homey welcoming atmosphere where they could relax and enjoy their time. Everything about the store and the experience was amazing. Getting there was easy, and finding it was straightforward. If I am ever back in that area, I would definitely return to try more of their products.

The lesson moved at a great pace, which felt really comfortable!
And the taste? Absolutely perfect! 👍
I loved how the instruction was tailored to my preferences and how carefully the flavors were checked along the way—it was fantastic!
For the mushroom mixed rice, the dashi stock made from dried shiitake mushrooms and kombu was excellent. We cooked it in a pot, so we even got to enjoy the crispy, caramelized rice crust (*okoge*) at the bottom!
Turning the used kombu into *furikake* seasoning was a delicious example of eco-friendly cooking!
Tomoko-sensei’s homemade pickled *koume* plums paired perfectly with the rice—it was incredibly delicious!
Then there was the tofu steak!
With that all-purpose sauce, making a steak is a breeze—a truly superb dish!
The potato potage was also easy to make and delicious. 😋
Adding a dash of cinnamon to change up the flavor was a brand-new experience for me! I devoured it in no time!
Next was the stir-fried eggplant with miso.
Mmm, so tasty! The hand-torn shiso leaves added a lovely accent.
The lesson was packed with treats—Tomoko-sensei’s homemade salad, plum wine, plum juice, and matcha jelly—leaving me completely satisfied!
Above all, it was such a fun time, filled with wonderful hospitality!
The food was delicious, of course, but the conversation while cooking was just so much fun.
It feels like that positive energy is infused right into the dishes!
I’d love to sign up for another class!
