I had a second cooking class with Tomoko San this week and it was just as special, interesting and enjoyable as the first class. Her passion and interest in teaching Japanese food is inspiring. She picks out delicious seasonal food for us to make together that is personal to our individual likes and aligned with Japanese seasonal foods. I learned more about Japanese preparation, cooking and flavour pairings which is something I love to learn about. We used different ingredients and created more delicious dishes that I cannot wait to cook again. Tomoko San is very organised allowing the class to run smoothly and thus creating a calming atmosphere to learn and cook in. Her home provides a wonderful space to cook in with beautiful decorations and all the utensils one might need for each dish. Everything is presently tastefully through Tomoko San pottery collection.. It really ties the whole experience together. To me, there is something special about cooking Japanese food with a great teacher and person, using Japanese pottery, utensils and learning about the food and preparation all in one. A great experience from start to finish. I highly recommend booking a class with Tomoko San. You won’t regret it.
