The class was a mixture of side dishes and sushi and was varied in what we were doing. Everything was prepared so that the class ran smoothly. Toshie was knowledgeable and kind. Pictures and videos were taken of me throughout so I can remember the experience and the techniques of preparing sushi. I was able to take home the recipes and Toshie kindly said that I could reach out to her in the future if I needed help with the recipes. 10/10 would recommend this class to anyone looking for an authentic Japanese cooking experience with an approachable, friendly and well-informed teacher.

We had an incredible cooking class experience! Loved the fact that we were welcomed into Amita’s home so kindly. She made us and the kids feel so welcome and the best part was her taking us step by step through how to make veg gyozas and ramen! It was so authentic and we learnt about the various ingredients that go into making the dishes! We also loved the food we cooked. She made yakisoba for the kids which was so lovely! We could not recommend her more. Thankyou Amita for the lovely hospitality, delicious food and the great conversations & tips!

My cooking lesson with Yuka was perfect! She was very organized, her instructions were very clear, and time was well managed. The food I learned to make was delicious and easy enough that I feel confident I can make it again when I return home, and no now I have the recipes she gave me to help. I’m very happy with my experience.

What to Expect from the Classes

You will learn how to prepare dashi, a fundamental Japanese stock made from seaweed and dried fish, and how to incorporate different types of miso paste, be it red, white, or mixed. Each class offers a chance to explore various ingredients that can be added to miso soup, such as tofu, seaweed, and vegetables, making each bowl unique.

The classes typically cater to small groups, ensuring personalized attention and ample opportunity to interact with the instructors.
