In this tea ceremony experience, you can enjoy a refreshing cup of sencha carefully prepared by master Yoneyama, a professional tea ceremony instructor and Japanese culture expert specializing in ikebana (flower arrangement) and Noh (classic Japanese theater), apart from being a certified tea ceremony instructor. Clearer than matcha, sencha is a refreshing and uplifting tea prepared by brewing the leaves rather than grinding them.
Your host will guide you into the tea ceremony room, a serene Japanese-style tatami room. In this peaceful environment, you can immerse yourself in the etiquette, history, and culture of the Japanese tea ceremony before experiencing the meticulous, precise ritual of tea preparation. Then, you can enjoy a refreshing cup of tea with one piece of wagashi (traditional Japanese confectionery) and learn to brew tea yourself, guided by your instructor.
This tea ceremony follows the ryurei tradition, so tables and chairs are used and there is no need to sit on the floor, so you can enjoy the experience comfortably.
