The sushi and dish order felt really thoughtful, and you can tell the chefs care about what they serve. I had the course with wine pairing – most pairings were great, but the Spanish red wine at the start felt a bit random. Some of the silver-skinned fish had a slight fishy taste, but nothing too strong. If you’re sensitive to that, maybe give the chef a heads-up. The chefs spoke different languages and explained each dish clearly, which really helped us enjoy the meal. They seemed a little nervous at first with a group of foreign guests, but once things got going, they were totally relaxed and professional. If you’re visiting Tokyo and want to try sushi at the counter, I’d definitely recommend this place to experience the local sushi culture.

It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but the quiet location makes it a nice spot to enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace. The sushi was all really tasty, and they used lots of seasonal ingredients, so you can really feel the time of year in the dishes. We went in spring, but I’d love to come back in another season too. When we visited, the other customers were all tourists from overseas. The counter is set up in a circle, which made it easy to chat with people around us—it had a really friendly, homey vibe that I really liked.

We had the omakase experience with sake pairing. This was the best meal of our life. The sushi was amazing and the chef was top notch. Even better was the ability for them to adjust the omakase meal to my allergies. Will be going back on our next Japan trip.
