Initially post-war black markets, Ueno and Okachimachi evolved into vibrant commercial and culinary hubs. On this food tour, explore the lively local atmosphere and taste the classic foods in the area.
Along the way, your guide will point out cultural points of interest, like a serene Buddhist temple, and explain the historical significance of Ueno, one of Tokyo’s main transport hubs until today.
After a 30-minute walk, you’ll visit three restaurants hand-picked by your guide - a restaurant in operation since the 1850s, a lively izakaya, and an upscale kappo restaurant. Each with a distinct atmosphere, style, and ambiance, so you can savor what makes the local food culture unique — its diversity.
