What better place to savor Edomae sushi in Fukuoka than at a restaurant headed by a skilled chef who trained in Tokyo?
High quality cooking, worth a stop!
Restaurant Details
Sushi Takemoto encompasses everything there is to the Edomae style — from the traditional techniques of sushi to the ambiance of the restaurant. Owner-chef Daisuke Takemoto trained for ten years in Edo, the origin city of Edomae style sushi, known as modern-day Tokyo, before setting down roots in a quiet area of Kokura in Kitakyushu and starting his very own restaurant. Even though he was only 26 when he became independent, Sushi Takemoto is not short on popularity and reputation — his skills far exceed his age.
This Edomae-style sushi restaurant features only the top-quality ingredients. Look out for Yuriage’s ark clam, Hokkaido’s uni, and Izumi’s Japanese horse mackerel — the natural flavorings along with chef Takemoto’s top skills elevates these premium ingredients to unfathomable levels. Everything from seasoning to the rice for the sushi is carefully sourced to complement the delicious seafood.
Sushi Takemoto is without a doubt a fine find for those looking to dine in Japanese traditional setting and experience authentic Japanese culture in the form of sushi.
